UPJŠ

Pavol Jozef Šafárik University was established in 1959 as the second classical University in Slovakia. The current structure of P. J. Šafárik University includes five faculties – Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Public Administration and Faculty of Arts. At our University more than 7 500 students are studying.

UPJŠ is a research-based university generating its highest level of scientific knowledge through a vibrant community of young researchers in collaboration with their supervisors. The Faculty of Science is the strongest contributor to the research outputs of the university. Our ambition is to provide specialized and highly trained researchers for fundamental scientific research and its application in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics, Information and Data Science. We also educate graduates in Teaching Science and shape their skills in Education Science.

Tomas Bata University is an open and flexible higher education institution, developed in accordance with five central values: entrepreneurship, openness, usefulness, creativity and responsibility. This is also one of the reasons why TBU counts among the first higher education institutions in the Czech Republic to be awarded the institutional accreditation.

In the area of research, TBU has produced significant results mainly in the area of polymer engineering, applied informatics and creative specializations.

The University is regularly successful when evaluated on the international level. In the Young University Rankings issued by the reputable British Times Higher Education company in 2020, TBU was ranked 301 – 350. According to the World University Rankings published by the British QS company one year later, our university is ranked 85th among universities situated in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The TU Wien is Austria’s largest research and educational institution in the field of technology and natural sciences. More than 4,000 scientists are researching “technology for people” in five main research areas at eight faculties. The content of the studies offered is derived from the excellent research. More than 26,000 students in 62 degree programmes benefit from this.
